The Boab Studio is a real working space for artists, inside a full restaurant. You get a station, a room of people watching, and somewhere to sell what you make.
Why paint here
Most studios are quiet. This one is not.
Painting live at The Boab Tree puts your work in front of a room that is already looking. Diners see the piece take shape, ask about it, remember it, and tell other people about it. Some of them buy it.
It also puts you next to other artists. The studio is a place to meet people, trade ideas, start collaborations, and be part of something that is genuinely alive rather than politely hung.

The practical part

Commission
The Boab Tree takes 15% on artwork sold. The rest is yours.
Materials
Artists bring their own supplies.
The space
You keep your station clean and leave it as you found it.
Hours
Studio hours follow service: Monday to Saturday, 6.30pm – 10.30pm.
Students
Tuesdays belong to art students.
Every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 10.30pm we open the studio to university art students. Bring your own theme or your own obsession, and work in a professional room with real people in it. Call to book a place.

Advice, if you want it.
Anissa Mendez has more than 30 years in the New York art world as an artist, author, illustrator and arts professor, and mentors emerging artists. Consultations are free — call to arrange one.
